Elenoa Naimata is keen to get back to the women’s sevens side for the World Sevens Series.
This was after their back-to-back Pacific Games gold medal win at the National Stadium, Honiara, on Saturday night. Fiji beat Papua New Guinea, 17-7.
Naimata was the only team member who won the gold medal at the 2019 Pacific Games in Samoa.
The Nabalasere, Saivou, Ra native dedicated her second Games gold medal to her parents Ranadi Meri and Penisoni Naimata.
“I thank God for blessing us and for those back at home, thank you for your support and prayers,” she said.
“I told the girls to keep their heads up and not to lose focus. We trained for this, we headed to the sand dunes so by hook or by crook we will take the gold medal home.
“I want to prove that I can get back to the top.
“This gold is for my parents, thank you for the support and prayers. I would not be here if it was not for their support.”
Naimata also shares maternal to Nailuva Village also in the province of Ra.
