Youngster wins Valentine’s snooker
A 16-year-old snooker player from Olosara in Sigatoka won the Western Customs Brokers sponsored Valentine’s Snooker Championship at the Lautoka’s South Sea Club on Saturday.

A 16-year-old snooker player from Olosara in Sigatoka won the Western Customs Brokers sponsored Valentine’s Snooker Championship at the Lautoka’s South Sea Club on Saturday.
Manav Raj beat Roneel Sami 2-1 in the final.
Raj received $300 for winning the one-day tournament.
In the semifinal, he beat former Fiji champion Epeli Bua 2-1.
The youngster also defeated Lautoka’s Vinesh Prasad, in the quarterfinal and Inoke Qerqeretabua in the pre-quarters.
Sami beat Rajnesh Nand 2-1 in the semi-final and 2-0 win over Irshad Hassan in the quarter-final.
Club secretary Raymond Reddy said the tournament was a success with some participants coming from Suva, Nausori, Sigatoka, and Nadi.
“There were eight pools of three players,” he added.
Reddy also thanked their sponsors Feroz Khan of Western Customs Brokers for backing the competition.
