Badminton Fiji (BF) is out on a recruitment drive for 20 players each in the four categories.

BF president Abel Caine said the four team categories include Strike Eagles, Shadow Falcons, Junior Hawks and Para Wolves.

“The Strike Eagles have the senior Fiji reps while the Shadow Falcons consists of the under 19, 17 and 15,” Caine said.

Junior Hawks is for Under-13 players to prepare for the 2031 Pacific Games, and the Para Wolves team has our physically challenged players hunting for glory.”

Caine added that the squad members have to attend an intensive two-hour training twice a week.

“Anyone can play badminton. We don’t care about race, income, location, join the badminton Fiji squads and we will find you a pathway to the podium,” he said.

Caine said badminton is a fast-paced sport that requires fitness, skill and teamwork.

“We are looking for anyone tall, skinny, and a little overweight,” he said.

“You have to love sports, speed and discipline. We are looking for individuals that can push their body limits of human endurance.”

Caine said badminton players should be able to focus on excellence, winning medals and becoming a true Fijian friendly person.
