The Boxing Commission of Fiji (BCF) is ready to look into complaints by boxers, promoters or ring officials. This was clarified to SUNsports yesterday by BCF chairman Adi Narayan.

Boxers complaining about payment not being made. They should come to us and complain.

BCF chairman Adi Narayan.

He was reacting to allegations made on social media of overseas boxers not being paid or issues on insurance. Narayan said all these complaints should be directed to them and not to the media or Facebook.

"Boxers complaining about payment not being made," he said.

"They should come to us and complain. I mean, I have not received any complaint. "Going to the press doesn't solve the problem," Narayan said.

"They (boxers) have to come to the commission that manages the boxing game and I'll check it out. "As far as we are concerned, there were complaints made last year and it has been resolved."

Narayan admitted that the insurance of boxers is something that is beyond their control.

"There's nothing we can do when it comes to the insurance of boxers.

"It's beyond our control. If they (underwriters) don't want to insure professional boxers, we cannot do anything about it.

"I think you should be put this question to insurance companies, instead of asking us," he said.

"This is because they are the ones underwriting insurance policies and they should be the ones telling you why they are not insuring professional boxers."

Meanwhile, Narayan confirmed that the first boxing promotion for the year will be on March 28 at Suva's Vodafone Arena. "It will be promoted by the Zeg King's Boxing Promotions," he added.
