The Viti Water Flow Lautoka football coach Tagi Vonolagi said, they have learned from their mistakes against Navua and are now tightening up any loose ends.

“We’re working on our finishing as this was exploited in our last match,” the former national football captain said.

“The finishing and the reluctance of our players to play out of their comfort zone were issues we had to work on.

“We urged the players to come out, take the risk and play in other areas.”

Vonolagi said they were also working on their transition play from defence to attack and vice-versa.

“To play against Rewa which has got a lot of mobility, we need to iron out our mistakes so that we can contain them and be able to beat them as well.”

Vonolagi said this is his second game with Lautoka and is beginning to polish up some of the team’s moves.

“We hope that come the Rewa game, we’ll be able to improve on our errors from the first game,” he said.

Vonolagi is hopeful that the players’ combination should come out well on Sunday.  He also urged Lautoka fans to turn up in numbers and support the team.

“I know the Lautoka fans are different from other teams,” he said.

“They want to win and we hope that they will accept the result of the game.”

The match kicksoff at 4pm.
