Rewa player/coach Tevita Waraniva says, they know exactly what is required of them when they face Lae City Dwellers FC in today’s final Group B match of the OFC Men’s Champions League.

Rewa kept their semi-final hopes alive with a 4-2 win over Tupapa Maraerenga FC and has to win at Govind Park in Ba, this afternoon, if they to reach the semi-final.

“The equation is simple,” he said.

“Nothing else will take us to the semi-final. Just three points (by beating Lae City Dwellers FC) will really take us into the semifinal,” he said.

The Papua New Guinea- based Lae City Dwellers FC only needs to draw to qualify.

Waranivalu said Rewa cannot afford to sit back.

“We cannot afford a draw. We cannot afford to lose. This is our last shot to the semi-final,” he said.

“We will focus on our game plan and how we want to play. Of course, we want to score first and control the game.”

He said the team would work on what they had planned during training for this crucial encounter.

“They (Lae City Dwellers FC) are a good team. They have a lot of speed in the attack, which we really need to look out for,” he said.

However, he remained confident in his players and said they would work on their finishing ahead of the match.

“We have been lacking in our finishing, but nothing is to be taken away from the boys.

“We will work hard in training, repeat what we need to do and come out with a plan.”

Waranivalu also called on Rewa supporters to make the trip to Ba and get behind the team.

“It’s a weekend of football. Please come down in numbers to support the boys.

“We really need your support here in Ba. Even though it’s away from home and it’s a four-hour drive, we will make it worth it for you.”

The match kicks-off at 3pm.
