For the second year in a row Fiji's Under-16 captain Maikah Dau leads his team to the FIFA U-17's World Cup.

This was after they defeated Papua New Guinea, 1-0, in the third place play-off at the OFC (Oceania Football Confederation) U16 men's championship in Honiara, Solomon Islands.

The win marked a historic back-to-back qualification for Fiji at the global tournament. Ryan Achari was the hero of the day who scored their goal. Speaking to OFC Media, Dau said it was a tough match.

"It was a great game; they gave us a tough battle," he said.

"I know it is always tough to go back to back, but yeah, we've done it, and am very thankful.

"Hats off to the boys for their hard work throughout the pool games and throughout the semifinals and in this match as well."

The FIFA Ul 7 World Cup kicks off on November 3.
