Roylux Realty Ba goalkeeper Isikeli Sevanaia Jr continued his family's proud football legacy after starring in Ba's dramatic penalty shootout victory over Navua to win the 2026 BiC Fiji FACT title at Subrail Park, Labasa, last night.

Sevanaia Jr, whose father Isikeli Sevanaia Sr was renowned for his penalty-saving heroics during his playing days with Ba, made two crucial saves in the shootout as Ba won 3-1 after the match ended 0-0 following regulation time and extra time.

The victory ended Ba's 16-year Fiji FACT title drought.

Speaking to SUNsports after the final, Sevanaia Jr credited his performance to his faith and his father's guidance.

"I was able to do that with His (God's) strength," he said.

"My main inspiration comes from my family, especially my dad, who is here with us.

"He advised me to stay grounded and be humble but, most importantly, to always acknowledge God in everything I do."

The 23-year-old said he remained calm during the decisive shootout.

"I blocked out all the noise when it comes to penalty kicks so I can focus on my job as a goalkeeper," he said.

While Sevanaia saved two of Navua's spot kicks, another attempt from Peniame Drova sailed over the crossbar. Navua goalkeeper Jovilisi Borisi managed to save one of Ba's penalties.

Ba head coach Ravinesh Kumar described the victory as historic.

"This is for all the Ba fans who have been supporting us. I believe this is a waking-up call for all the fans.

"Stay behind the team and support the team. Believe in the team, believe in the process.

"And I will say, have trust in your team, and the team will do better."

Former Labasa midfielder Ilisoni Lolaivalu was emotional after captaining Ba to victory on his home ground.

The Men in Black received the $17,000 winner's prize, while Navua collected $5,000 as runners-up.
