A revamped Nadroga football team upset Rewa 3-2 during their warm-up match at Lawaqa Park, Sigatoka, last Sunday.

The Stallions have acquired the services of former Nadi striker Rusiate Matererega, who scored twice.

The other goal came from veteran Osea Vakatalesau. Nadroga found their mojo as Kamal Swamy now coaches them.

Swamy had coached Lautoka, Nadi and Ba before moving to Sigatoka.

This Sunday, at the resumption of the Digicel Premier League competition, Nadroga travel to the Uprising Sports Centre in Pacific Harbour, Deuba,  to face Navua.

This is one of the three exciting matches billed for this Sunday.

Fiji Football Association competitions manager Amitesh Pal said the competition would resume as planned.

“We have given three weeks to all the teams to prepare, and we have also conducted educational sessions in regards to our return to play awareness and protocols,” he told Fiji FA Media.

Quarantine restrictions

Pal said the only issue was the quarantine restrictions still in place for Vanua Levu.

“We have to reschedule all Labasa’s games due to the quarantine restrictions. There will be only three matches played on Sunday.”

Points table

Meanwhile, Viti Water Flow Lautoka FC are currently leading the points table with 13 points, two points ahead of Rewa who are second with 11.

Labasa are on third place with 10 points while Nadi follow with nine. Ba are on fifth place with seven points with Suva behind them with seven.

Navua are on seventh place while Nadroga are at the bottom of the points table
