New schools join 2026 Extra secondary schools futsal

“We have four zones for Fiji Secondary School and with the help of Fiji Football Association and Extra, we are spreading the gospel of futsal in all the zones.

The 2026 Extra Fiji Secondary School futsal competition will see some new schools participating for the first time this year. 

Southern zone coordinator Jainut Dean said the competition has gained a lot of interest from schools including Nabua Secondary School, Suva Grammar School, Rishikul Sanatan College (RSC), Dilkush High School and Jai Narayan College. 

“We have 12 under-17 boy’s teams participating,” Dean said. 

The same competition will be held in the North and in the South West division including schools in Nadroga, Nadi and Lautoka. Northwest division sees Ba, Tavua and Rakiraki schools. 

Dean acknowledge the Fiji Football Association and for supporting for spreading Futsal around Fiji. 

“We have four zones for Fiji Secondary School and with the help of Fiji Football Association and Extra, we are spreading the gospel of futsal in all the zones. 

“Futsal this year is bigger and better,” he said. 

The competition will kick off on February 28.

U17 girls

Pool A: Suva Muslim College (SMC), International Secondary School (ISS), DAV, Nakasi High School.

Pool B: Mahatma Gandhi Memorial School (MGM), Nabua Secondary School, Nasinu Secondary School (NSS), Vunimono High School (VHS). 

U19 girls: VHS, Baulevu High School, Nakasi High School (NHS), NSS and MGM.

U17 boys:

Pool A: NKS, DAV, Nabua, Sila Central

Pool B: Baulevu, Gospel High School, VHS, SMC

Pool C: ISS, JNC, RSC, Nasinu Muslim College

U19 boys

Pool A: VHS, ISS, SGS, Baulevu, DAV

Pool B: SMC, NHS, MGM, Sila Central, DMHS
