Our Women Footballers Face Philippines In Sydney

The Digicel Fijian Women’s football team will fly out to Australia tomorrow to play two International Friendly matches against the Philippines.

The Digicel Fijian Women’s football team will fly out to Australia tomorrow to play two International Friendly matches against the Philippines.

According to Fiji FA Media, this is part of their build-up for the 2022 OFC Nations Cup to be played here in July.

Fijian Women’s head coach Lisa Cole told Oceania Football, that she is hopeful that the team can play a certain brand of football.

This is a build-up tour for the 2022 OFC Nations Cup which will be played in Fiji in July.

“I think my experience will help as I know the level of competition and potentially the challenges we may face,” Cole said.

The first match will be played on April 7 and the second match is scheduled for April 11 in Sydney.

Meanwhile, the Digicel Women's Senior League-Southern Zone competition continued today at Ratu Cakobau Park, Nausori.

Nasinu proved too strong for Lami with a 2-0 win while Navua thrashed Northland Tailevu 6-0.

At the Fiji FA Academy ground in Vatuwaqa, Suva, hosted the Digicel Under- 16 Boys Youth League- Southern Zone.

Rewa proved too strong for Nasinu winning 6-1 while Tailevu/Naitasiri pipped Northland Tailevu 1-0.
