Rabo rebuilds Suva

The Global Care Suva FC is rebuilding under head coach Pita Rabo as the side prepares for a crucial Extra Premier League round 13 clash against Ba on Sunday at the National Stadium, Suva.

Head coach Rabo told SUNsports the team’s immediate focus was on creating the right environment and remaining competitive as they focus on improving their standings.

“We’re rebuilding after the departure of our previous coach. Our focus is on preparing well, creating a positive environment and making sure we remain competitive in the league,” Rabo said.

Following last week’s 2-2 draw with Navua, Rabo said Suva’s biggest priority was improving its finishing.

“We need to make the most of our chances and protect what we have during games. If we do that, we’ll give ourselves a good opportunity to earn the three points,” he said.

Rabo expects a tough challenge from Ba, who have strengthened their squad in recent weeks, but believes Suva has a plan to match them.

“Ba is a strong side and it won’t be an easy match,” he said.

“They’ve recruited well and are playing good football, but we’ve prepared a game plan to contain them. We want to compete strongly, especially in midfield, and make them work for every opportunity,” he said.

While acknowledging the importance of Sunday’s fixture, Rabo said the club was also building towards the Battle of the Giants tournament and hosting the Inter-District Championship in October.

He thanked supporters for standing by the team and urged them to continue their backing.

“Thank you to all our supporters for staying with the team. We’re working hard to rebuild and your support means a lot to the players and the club. We hope to see you in numbers on Sunday,” Rabo said.
