The Napolioni Qasevakatini -captained Nadi football side are taking a cautious approach in their clash against Suva on Sunday in the fourth round of the Digicel Premier League.

Despite being hosts, Nadi coach Shalen Lal said they respect the defending DPL champions.

“Suva have got good players and they will be coming out firing from the first whistle and we should be ready for them,” Lal said.

Nadi moved to third place on the points table after their 2-0 win over Lautoka, last Sunday.

“No matter how much you train, it’s the performance on the day that does count. We are expecting some favours to come our way during the match.”

Lal said the current rainy weather had disrupted their training session, but that should not be counted as a hindrance to their performance.

Nadi will be banking on their seasoned players like goalkeeper Vereti Dickson, Josua Tawake, Serevi Waqa, Rusiate Materirerega, Samuela Gavo, and Ame Votoniu.

“We’ve some niggling injuries but that should be sorted before game day.”

On the other hand, Suva have dropped three key players, striker Christopher Wasasala, Simione Nabenu, and Joeli Ranitu have been told to leave the national camp in Ba because of disciplinary issues.
