Ba women’s fullback Sereima Nauci is hoping to secure a spot in the national side.
The 17-year-old claimed the inaugural 2025 Fiji FA (Fiji Football Association) Women’s Super League Player of the Year award during the Extra national league awards night at the headquarters in Vatuwaqa, Suva last Saturday.
Nauci acknowledged divine intervention and her family for their support after she won her award.
“I’ve been playing football for three years and at a young age I’ve always been interested in the sport,” she said.
“I will have to improve and be better this season.”
Nauci hails from Nasolo village, Ba and shares maternal links to Dagai, Nabukelevu, Kadavu.
“I hope to be selected for the national women’s team for the World Cup qualifiers next month,” she said.
“I have to listen and follow the laws of the game to be a better player.”
She is a student at AD Patel College in Ba and aspires to be a soldier.
“I want to encourage and inspire the young girls in Ba to work hard and to achieve something like this,” Nauci said.
“I want these girls to be obedient, work hard and to follow their dreams.”
