Fiji Open: Sam Lee Retains Title

Nadi-based professional Sam Lee shot a total of 16 under par to retain his title in the 49th Vuksich & Borich Fiji Open Championship at the Denarau Golf and Racquet Club yesterday.

Lee shot 67, 64 and 66 respectively for a total of 197 after 54 holes.

“I started off really well, birdied first three holes. I felt comfortable having a five-shot lead,”Lee said.

“I played very steady and scored well on the front nine, had one birdie on the back nine.

He won $6570 while second place Kieran Muir (209) earned $4073.

School teacher Roneel Prakash carded 212.

2016 winner Gareth Paddison shot 212, one ahead of Andrew Kelly (213) and Hayden Beard (213)

In the Amateur nett, Graham Venkataya scored 210, followed by Sung Jin Yeo (214).

In third was Azam Khan (216) and Barroon Hussain (223)
