Sam Lee is the new leader of the Vuksich & Borich sponsored- Fiji PGA Tour Order of Merit after two events.
The Nadi professional shot seven under par 65 to take out the Inaugural Woodstock Pro-am 2021 at the Denarau Golf course yesterday.
He walked away $1000 richer for his swings under the Western weather conditions.
“It was a good going and made the putt,” Lee said.
“Golfers such as Waisake Vati, Ajay Raniga and Pradeep Chandra gave me a good run.”
He thanked the organisers for supporting the local professionals.
Tied on the second spot were Amitesh Chandra, Zoheer Ahmad, and Bill Sorowale who all shot two under par 70. They shared the prize of $650.
Nadi businessman Abid Hussein took out the amateur division as he shot one-over-par 73. Natadola golfer Jeral Sharma shot 65 nett.
Former Lautoka football coach Dennis Singh shot 69 to claim the top honours in the A-grade.
Bale Lee took out the Ladies prize (94) and Labasa’s Sarita Gounden carded 71 nett.
Tappoo’s director Kaushal Tappoo said, “We had planned this tournament last December but has finally took off.
“I’ve been a lover of the sport. Hosting this event is not for our business but to support golfers.
“We will be going bigger and better next year.”
The next Fiji PGA tour will be held at Natadola Bay Golf Course on May 27.
