The Ablaze Redz team are gunning for princess grade title of the Suva Netball Association League this season.
This after the Ablaze Redz side thrashed Rovers Yellow 26–2 at the National Netball Centre in Suva on Saturday.
Ablaze Redz manageress Agnes Ravai said her players are in top form after they won the Roses grade last year.
“We don’t underestimate any team, and I think they played well today (Saturday),” she said.
“The good thing about this lot of girls is that most of them are athletes that have taken part in the Fiji Athletics finals so that’s the strength they bring.”
Ravai added that her players also rely on each other’s strength on the court.
“I think that’s important, relying on each other,” she said.
“We are hoping that they bring the dominance from the Roses grade into the Princess grade”
Ravai revealed that most of her players are from Suva schools like Yat Sen School, St Joseph Secondary School and Mahatma Gandhi School (MGM).
“We also have players from Adi Cakobau School (ACS) as well,” she said.
“These players are friends on and off the court which shows the bond and cohesion on the court.”
Ravai acknowledged all the Ablaze Redz supporters for their endless support on gameday.
“The Ablaze club has grown. We started this club in 2016 with the late Moape Vu, coach Filomena Korovulavula,” she said.
“The support we get from the parents is our greatest strength.”
