The Fiji rugby league community is mourning the passing of Fiji Bati High Performance coach Alex Clarke, whose dedication and passion played a vital role in the growth of the national programme.

The country's rugby league fraternity mourns the death of Alex Clarke, who is the Fiji Bati's High Performance coach.

According to the Fiji National Rugby League (FNRL), Clarke was a dedicated professional whose pas­sion, knowledge, and commitment to excellence greatly contributed to the growth and performance of our national programme.

"His work with the Fiji Bati helped shape athletes on and off the field, and his legacy will continue to live through the lives he impacted," stated FNRL in a release.

"As we mourn his passing, we take comfort in God's promise:

"The Lord is close to the broken­hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. On behalf of FNRL, we extend our heartfelt con­dolences to Clarke's family, friends, and loved ones. May God's peace, strength, and comfort surround them during this difficult time"
