Acting PM Vosarogo fires up Flying Fijians for France showdown

Acting Prime Minister and Minister for Lands and Mineral Resources, Filimoni Vosarogo, has issued a stirring message of support to the Flying Fijians as they prepare to face France tomorrow, urging the team to remember the nation they represent and the spirit they carry onto the field.

Addressing the players on behalf of Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka, Mr Vosarogo reminded the team that every time they don the white jersey, they embody the pride, resilience and courage of Fiji.

“When you wear that white jersey, remember that you carry the story of a small island nation that has never been afraid to stand tall among the giants,” he said.

He told the players that while Fiji may be small in size, its spirit is unmatched on the rugby field.

“Time and time again, you prove that greatness is not measured by population or resources—but by heart, courage, and unity. And those are the qualities you hold in abundance.”

Mr Vosarogo acknowledged the sacrifices made by the team and the pressure of competing against top-tier nations, saying Fijians everywhere recognise the challenges but believe wholeheartedly in their players.

“Remember the children in our villages who look up to you with shining eyes. Remember the families gathered at home praying for you. Remember the elders whispering blessings for your safety and success.”

He encouraged the team to play with freedom and confidence, with the knowledge that Fiji stands with them regardless of the final score.

“You have shown the world before what Fiji is capable of—and you can do it again.”

Mr Vosarogo closed his message with a powerful rallying call:

“We stand behind you. We believe in you. And no matter the outcome, you will make Fiji proud simply by giving your all.
