Saimone Qeleca could possibly be the next Fijian signing for Toulon.
Rugby Club Toulonnais confirmed in a tweet that he will be on trial this week.
This was after the 25-year-old burst the screen during the stages of the Super Sevens (a French 7s Rugby tournament) last two weeks, under the colors of Monaco.
RCT tweeted: “Double stage winner with @MonacoRugby7s during the @supersevens, the young Saimone Qeleca perform a test with the @RCTofficiel”
He has been instrumental in Monaco winning two of the three tournaments, which involves top players from the TOP 14 and other promising youngsters
The Fijian winger notably showed an incredible point of speed as well as devastating hooks.
Qeleca has lived in France for two years, through a partnership between Yamacia Rugby and Rugby Club Dignois (7th rugby division in France).
For two years, he’s played at an amateur level and worked as a construction worker.
Qeleca’s performance has been stellar for such an inexperienced player, with 479 meters ran and twelve break throughs just the Toulouse tournament.
If the trial is a success and Qeleca is hired, he would join Jiuta Wainiqolo, Leone Nakarawa and Petero Tuwai. It would represent a sensational success story with a complete amateur from the seventh division being able to play at the top level in France.
He had also been approached by Aix-en-Provence and Worcester.
