The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua must cut down on their errors if they want to win against the Blues in this Saturday’s Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific clash at Eden Park, Auckland.

This was the message from disappointed Drua head coach Glen Jackson after their 6-21 loss to the Reds in Lautoka last Saturday.

The Drua did not score any tries but first five eight Isaiah Armstrong- Ravula kicked over two penalties in the first half.

“We need to stop making mistakes,” Jackson said.

I think defensively, we put enough good shots on, turned their ball over, but to walk away with three tries to none isn’t good enough for the people of Fiji.

“What we did against the Hurricanes was obviously a fantastic performance. You’ve seen what the Hurricanes have done. What we did against the Brumbies was brilliant because we took our opportunities, and today (Saturday) we didn’t.”

He said despite the results, there were a few positives takeaway.

“I think defensively, we put enough good shots on, turned their ball over, but to walk away with three tries to none isn’t good enough for the people of Fiji.

“Unfortunately, we take this on the chin. As Frank (Lomani) said, we’ve got two very tough games now, the Blues and the Crusaders.

“You’ve got to learn from that. You can’t drop your lip and obviously listen to everything that’s going on around the place. The boys have got to put in a good show and get on a plane and beat the Blues in Auckland.”

Jackson added the Drua did not capitalise on their chances.

“I think, probably four opportunities in the first half, including the one right on half-time. At half-time, there was no panic.

“I thought we could come back under a warning. We got a person in the sin bin. Unfortunately, we just didn’t play like we have been playing.”

He said the players showed a bit of fatigue and they did not hang onto the ball.

“I think we created enough opportunities to win the game, but to walk away in front of our home fans without a try scored is obviously a disappointment as well.”
