After 20 years, the Ra rugby team has qualified for next year’s Skipper Cup and crowned the Vodafone Vanua Championship winners after beating Northland 15-10 in the final at Suva’s Buckhurst Park yesterday.
Speaking to SUNsports yesterday, Ra captain Waisea Lawebuka said they were determined to score a comeback win.
“It was really a tough game,” he said.
“We were locked 10-10 at the second half and I thank the boys for giving their best and holding on to the last minute.”
Lawebuka said they are looking forward to play in the Skipper Cup but their main focus is to win the Farebrother-Sullivan Trophy.
“After this we will go back to our drawing board and rectify all areas we need to work on before we challenge the Farebrother.”
