The Fiji Rugby Union does not engage with fake news or malicious rumours.

That was the message from FRU administrator Simione Valenitabua over allegations made on social media about flanker Peceli Yato leaving the FIJI Water Flying Fijians camp.

Then, a Facebook posting involving captain Waisea Nayacalevu, where he was alleged to have sworn at a fan.

“We are aware of recent rumours involving our players,” Valenitabua said.

“These originate from unverified sources. As a policy, we are always open to genuine feedback and constructive criticism.”

The Suva lawyer said anyone who has a legitimate concern, is requested lodge their complaint at Rugby House.

“This where it will be handled promptly and fairly,” he added.

Valenitabua said the Flying Fijians are focused on what matters most improving their game and preparing for Rugby World Cup that gets underway in September.
