Western Force head coach Simon Cron is confident he has named the best available team to face the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua in their Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific round nine clash at Churchill Park in Lautoka.
The visitors are fresh off their 42-19 win over Reds, but wary of Drua’s home advantage.
“That’s the team we’ve gone for over here and that’s the best players available at the moment,” Cron said.
“They’re great men and we’re looking forward to playing the Drua.”
“The Drua are a different beast at home. They’re a really talented side with an amazing skill set. For us, it’s about putting back-to-back performances together.”
Cron hopes that his men would maintain their winning momentum.
“It’s all about performance for us. The guys at the weekend did a good job. We’ve got to maintain that and continue to play that way,” he said.
The side features several seasoned campaigners returning.
“It’s not too dissimilar to the team we named last week. Jeremy Williams coming back in is obviously important, but the guys who were in that position did a good job as well.”
NRL convert Zac Lomax has been named on the bench and is already drawing attention in Fiji.
“Zac was almost going to play last week but had a tight hamstring, so we played it safe with him,” he said.
“He’s available this week so we picked him.
“He’s a consummate professional, so we’re looking forward to seeing him play.”
The Force face the Drua at 4.35pm.
