Hydro 7s Boys In To Learn

Hydro Rugby Club is trying to revive the sport in the highlands in Rewasau, Naitasiri.
And guiding the team into the 45th Fiji Bitter Marist 7s is former national rep, Kini Radaveta.
He hopes his side will take the positives from the three-day tournament.
“We’ve participated in the Marist 7s in the past years, where we reached the semifinals once,” he said.
“Last year we did not participate and decided to come back this year.”
All the boys are based in the village and came to Suva last week to furnish their preparation.
“We are only here to learn. I’ve been telling the boys that the main purpose to participate at the Marist 7s is to learn from other big teams.
“They are young but I have confident in them they will do their best and learn as much as they can from what they see.”
Their age ranges from 17-28 years.
Rewasau has produced national reps like Radaveta, Jovesa Matakasa, Emori Ratu and Lorima Boletawa.
He hopes that one of these boys would be the next national rep from their village.
Hydro also participated in the Naitasiri 10s and Waimanu Mini 7s.
“We reached the semis in the 10s and lost in the finals of the Mini 7s.”
Radaveta indicated they started with the weekly club games at Sawani, for the Naitasiri Rugby Union.
They previously played under Vatukoula Rugby Union.
