Ice In Charge For Northland

Three prominent national 7s reps will spearhead Northland’s Skipper Cup Premiership competition next month.

Isake ‘Ice’ Katonibau’s rugby career blossomed while playing for Northland under the late coach Epeli Lagiloa and will mentor the side. Olympian Apisai Domolailai and Emosi Mulevoro will lead a young Northland outfit which includes former Ratu Kadavulevu School’s head boy Mosese Qionimacawa.

Northland hosts Naitasiri on April 10 at Gatward Park, Korovou in the first Skipper Cup Premiership game of the season.

“We are readily building up for the opening game having played two games against the HPU teams,”Northland Rugby treasurer Simeli Nakalevu said.

“We also played Nadroga at Lawaqa Park, Sigatoka last Friday.”

Nakalevu said current officials were re-elected during the meeting at the Korovou Police bure yon Saturday.

Naitasiri played Tailevu in a warm-up match at Ratu Cakobau Park Two on Saturday.
