It was an 80-minute game, says Drua coach

The Fijian Drua overcame a fierce Hurricanes outfit winning their Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific round 3 game 25-20 at Churchill park in Lautoka.

The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua came from behind to claim their first win of the season at Churchill Park, Lautoka today.
They beat the Jordie Barret-captained Hurricanes, 25-20, in their Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific Round 3 clash.
Drua head coach Glen Jackson said he was proud of his men’s performance.

Asked on what they did well today compared to the first two matches, Jackson said: “We played for 80 minutes.
“I think the Hurricanes get complete and out of quality outfit that we go a long way in this competition.
“I was just really proud of the boys.
“It’s not easy when you start, just to have some belief that the 80 minutes is round the corner.
“I think we were unbelievably well led.”
The Drua opened the scores with a penalty from Isaiah Armstrong-Ravula as they lead, 3-0, in the 6th minute.
Hurricanes crossed over for two consecutive tries and took the lead before Motikiai Murray dived over for a try and Ravula tied the scores, 10–all in the 31st minute.
Hurricanes’ added another converted try as lead 17-13 at halftime after Ravula slotted another penalty.
Barret landed a penalty from the 52m mark and the Canes extend lead, 20-13, in the 49th minute.
A minute later, Drua centre Tuidraki Samusamuvodre intercepted a kick from Barret and streaks away to score untouched under the post and they’re tied for the second time.
Ravula converts it from in front as they lock in at 20-all.
Etonia Waqa sealed the deal for the Drua in the 67th minute.
