Malolo’s win is for the vanua of Nakuruvarua.

This was the comment of the Tide Tribe Malolo head coach Rupeni Nasiga after they defeated a star studded Nadi side, 31-19, in their Skipper Cup semifinal clash at the HFC Bank Stadium, Suva.

They have booked their spot in next Saturday’s Skipper Cup final.

“This win is for Nadroga as well,” Nasiga said.

“We dedicate it to the late coach Esala Nauga.”

Nadi fielded Drua players including Tuidraki Samudamuvodre, Emosi Tuqiri, Meli Tuni, Sailosi Vukalokalo and Leone Nawai.

Despite Nadi’s lineup of Drua players, Nasiga said they had a game plan and his side delivered as expected.

“It’s not about the big names in rugby but working hard and working together.”

Malolo ran in four converted tries and a penalty against the Jetsetters;  Nadi scored three tries and only converted two.
