MGM ready for today’s U15 final

The Mahatma Gandhi Memorial High School (MGM) Under-15 boys’ football team is aiming to finish their campaign on a high by beating DAV College in today’s Suva Secondary Schools U15 final at the Jai Narayan College ground.

Speaking to SUNsports yesterday, MGM head coach Chrishant Goundar said the team has prepared well, and the players are ready for the challenge.

“The players have trained hard throughout the week,” he said.

“Everyone is focused, motivated and excited for the challenge ahead. We’re confident we’ve done everything possible to be ready.”

Goundar said the team worked on improving their passing, communication and to keep possession when under pressure.

“We also focused on converting our scoring opportunities and maintaining discipline throughout the match.

“We want to give our very best, play with determination and represent our school with pride. We respect our opponents, but our goal is to perform to our potential and compete for the championship.

Goundar thanked their team’s supporters and urged them to turn up in big numbers to watch the final.

The match kicks-off at 2.30pm.
