Naitasiri Secondary School (NSS) Under-17 team will lift their preparations this week before Saturday’s Southern Zone Secondary School’s rugby union semi-finals.
The Highlanders won 19-18, against Lomary Secondary School (LSS) last Saturday at the Suva Grammar School grounds.
NSS Team manager Ilisaniyasi Kailutu said Lomary gave them a tough run.

“I would like to thank the Lord for the outcome of the game, it was a tough one for us, but we were thankful that we came out with the win,” Kailutu said.
“I thank the boys and team coaches for a good preparation throughout the week.” NSS was on bye the week before, which was a bonus for the side as they had more time for preparations and players to recover.
“We were able to identify our weaknesses, and we would talk about it during the week. Most of these boys were part of the rugby league team and it was a good preparation for us.” Kailutu added that there had been setbacks however they have kept on pushing.
“We struggle financially and also with the construction works at Naluwai, it affected our preparation and the fielding of our teams.
Unfortunately, we have only one team; I think this is the first time for us to field only one team during the Deans competition.”
