Navosa will try to build on from their win against Taveuni when they take on defending Skipper Cup champions Malolo at Sigatoka’s Lawaqa Park tomorrow.

Speaking to SUNsports yesterday, Navosa Rugby Union (NRU) president Levi Nayacalevu said preparations are on track as the team looks to produce another strong performance against a tough Malolo side.

“The coaches and the management team are working really well with the boys,” Nayacalevu said.

“Looking back at the last two games, the boys are working on their weaknesses. They contributed a lot in the last two games and now they’re looking forward to our third game.

“I know Malolo is a tough team and also the defending champions of this cup.”

Nayacalevu reiterated that Navosa respected Malolo but would not take the match lightly.

“Malolo is a well-known team and defending champions. We respect them and we are expecting a tough game. We would not take this game lightly because it is important to us. We are trying our best to secure another win,” he said.

Nayacalevu said their goal for this year’s competition is not to get relegated to the Vanua competition.

“Our coach has highlighted that we need to win four games in order to retain our place in next year’s competition.”

Nayacalevu has urged their supporters to be at Lawaqa Park to cheer on the team.

The match kicks-off at 4pm.
