Taveuni ready for the challenge

Newcomers Taveuni is hopeful of registering their first Skipper Cup win against Vinod Patel Ba in Saturday’s clash at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka.

Both teams have yet to record a win in the competition.

Taveuni head coach Josateki Satini said the two losses has not dampened their determination to bounce back.

“That does not stop us from winning and the boys are looking forward to our third game against Ba,” Satini said.

“We respect Ba and we believe they are also a good quality side. We will treat this game as a final. It will be an important game for us and we are aiming for our first win.”

Satini said preparations are on track.

“Our preparations have been progressing well and we are ready for the challenge,” he said.

Satini said the team has reviewed their performances and identified areas that needed improvement.

“After two straight losses, we have regrouped and reviewed all our errors and mistakes before we face Ba at Lawaqa,” he said.

“Another area that concerns me is player availability. We have a couple of injuries in our team and we are trying our best to get players that can fill in the gaps.”

The match kicks-off at 3pm.
