President of the Standard Concrete Tailevu Rugby Football Union Joseph Rodan Snr, is calling on selectors and scouts to closely liaise with the Tailevu rugby coaching panel and team managers when recruiting players from the Skipper Cup competition.

These selectors include both the Fiji Rugby Union 7s and 15s, the High Performance Unit, Fijian Drua management and international rugby clubs.

This call is part of Tailevu rugby’s ongoing career pathways process, which is a key pillar under the Tailevu Rugby Business Plan 2025–2030. The plan emphasises sustainable grassroots development and the creation of clear professional opportunities for young and emerging players within the province.

“We are committed to ensuring that the hard work and dedication of our players are recognized and rewarded.

“The Skipper Cup competition has showcased the depth of talent within Tailevu rugby, and we want to ensure that our players have access to professional pathways both locally and internationally,” Rodan Snr said.

He added that a significant number of Tailevu players are between the ages of 20 and 25, demonstrating exceptional skills, discipline, and consistency throughout the Skipper Cup season.

“These young men have proven themselves on the field, they are fit, fast, and possess the right attitude. They would be valuable assets to any club or union, whether in Fiji or overseas,” he added.

Tailevu Rugby continues to focus on developing future rugby stars through structured training, mentorship, and exposure programmes aligned with the Fiji Rugby Union’s development framework and World Rugby standards.
