Rugby Match Officials Get Support
Sponsors are crucial for our objectives both on and off the field. It is through Roosters support that we will be able to assist in the development of match officials from grassroots and create their own pathways throughout our competitions. We will also be able to cover their match fees and other operational costs

Rooster Chicken is the latest addition to the Fiji Rugby Union Vuvale following their agreement to be the major sponsor of match officials the next three years.
“Rooster Chicken has strengthened its relationship with FRU after supporting the Flying Fijians during the two test match series against the All Blacks in July last year,” FRU Chief Executive Officer John O’Connor said yesterday.
“We extend our gratitude to Rooster Chicken for supporting FRU match officials who play vital roles at all the levels of our domestic competitions from Kaji to Skipper Cup,” he said.
“Without match officials, we have no games. We are so humbled by Rooster’s support in such challenging times. This partnership is timely.”
O’Connor added: “Sponsors are crucial for our objectives both on and off the field. It is through Roosters support that we will be able to assist in the development of match officials from grassroots and create their own pathways throughout our competitions. We will also be able to cover their match fees and other operational costs.”
The CEO also thanked the Fiji Rugby Referees Association for their support and perseverance who in the past have had to finance their match kits.
Through this partnership, the match officials are provided with off the field uniform (Bula wear), two pairs of field kits, a sports knapsack, socks and a pair of boots each.
Rooster Poultry General Manager Stanley Raniga states that the brand is happy to support Fiji Rugby.
“Rugby is our national sport and we are delighted to be the official chicken supplier of the Flying Fijians, both Fiji Airways men’s and women’s 7s and the Fijiana,” Raniga said.
“It brings us great joy when Fiji wins in rugby; it is important that Fiji Rugby has the necessary resources to be able to support our teams and the entire country in the national and international stage. This sponsorship was made possible with the support of our major distributor, Ashabhai & Co Pte Limited and their Resident Director, Harish Patel.”
