‘Set Target, Work Hard’
Talented Rogosau will use Police and rugby to suppport her family when the opportunity comes her way in the near future.

It’s always good to come out of our comfort zone and take on new challenges then watch where it takes us.
New kid on the block Mereani Rogosau shared this after she received the Best Player award in the women’s competition at the Fiji Bitter Marist Sapphire 7s last weekend.
The Serea, Naitasiri native was impressive at playmaker for the Police Blue Diamond 7s team that defeated Sea Hawks in the final.
Speaking to SUNsports the 19- year old pivot said she wanted to try something different.
“Growing up it was all rugby and I used to play with my mates back in Namadi,” she said.
“It is an interesting sport to play because it’s a men’s game, it’s very physical and we have to be strong. During a game we should learn to trust our own ability.
“We should learn to block negativity and work hard towards our goals because that will help us in the long run as rugby players.
“My rugby started developing and growing at a very early age before I joined Sacred Heart College.
“It was after high school that the Striders coach spotted me and my mates and invited us to join the team.
“Now with the Skipper Cup Premiership yet to start I joined the Police side for some game time before the season starts.
“It was always sevens rugby for me so I will join Suva for the Skipper Cup Premiership when the season starts.
“I played for the Striders until I joined the Police side.”
Rogosau is ready to don the national colors if given the opportunity.
“When the Fijiana officials approached me it was something different and it boosted my performance, “she said.
“If given an opportunity to play for Fiji I’m ready to don the national colors.”
The playmaker would certainly take her chances joining the force.
“I was given the opportunity to play for Police I took it with both hands and I’m happy to be here,” she said.
“I will take the chance if the ACP Rusiate Tudravu gives me an opportunity to become a Police officer because I’m still young and have a long way to go.
“I want to take care of family and see that parents are well.”
Meanwhile, Blue Diamond coach Waisake Bole said Rogosau has a bright future.
“After our games at the Nawaka 7s the national coaches approached me and told me they wanted Rogosau to join the Fijiana training squad. So we have been in contact and they also asked if I could give her more game time,” he said.
“That indicates that she has the talent and potential to go far and become something special.”
