McDonald’s Fiji Drua Women first five-eighth Varanisese Qoro is hoping to score more tries against the ACT Brumbies in round three of the Super W competition at Govind Park, Ba, on Saturday.

Qoro, nicknamed “Hot Heels” for her speed and kicking ability, scored two tries in the Drua’s 29-24 victory over the Western Force in round two.

The Sabeto, Nadi native said she was pleased to get on the scoresheet but credited her team-mates for creating the opportunities.

“So far I have played in round one and round two,” the former Adi Cakobau School sprinter said.

“It was good to score my first tries of the season. It was only possible because of the team-work that created the opportunities for

me to score.”

Despite the victory, Qoro said the team still had areas to improve ahead of the clash against the Brumbies.

“We play the Brumbies next week, and we need to work on a few areas,” Qoro said.

“We need to improve our defence and line speed.”

The Drua will be aiming for back-to-back wins after opening their Super W campaign after a 29-24 victory over the Force.
