Stadium won’t affect Drua’s Super match: Evans
“Clearly, it’s not ideal. I’m sure the stadium doesn’t think it’s ideal to play two matches quite close together, but sometimes it’s unavoidable.”

The dry and patchy condition of the HFC Bank Stadium will not have any effect on the chances of our hosting the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua’s Super Rugby home matches in 2026.
When questioned, Drua chief executive officer Mark Evans said the Super Rugby Pacific 2026 season does not start in eight months.
“It’s nine or eight months until we play again so I don’t think there’s any real issue,” he said.

Evans said last Saturday’s match between the Flying Fijians and Scotland was a great match.
When asked if the Drua is working with Fiji Rugby Union to secure a new stadium, Evans said: “No. I know there are some things; there are some very early stage soundings going on, but no, not into any significant degree.
“I mean, having done this a bit, it’s always stupid to refurbish somewhere than building from new,” he added.
Meanwhile, Ponipate Loganimasi is the third Fijian Drua player called to join the First Nations and Pasifika XV squad. Loganimasi joins Mesake Doge and Mesake Vocevoce. They face the British & Irish Lions next Tuesday.
