The FMF Suva rugby team will not take the Tide Tribe Malolo side lightly in today’s Skipper Cup clash at Yawini Sports Park in Mana Island.

Speaking to SUNsports yesterday Suva team manager Ulaiasi Butukoro said they would be expecting a tough challenge from Malolo especially playing on their home ground.

“We have maintained some of our players from last week,” he said.

“Our team consists of a few players from the Fiji Under-20, HPU (High Performance Unit) and the national sevens players who are on a break from national duties.”

Butukoro said they have been working on building up combinations between the players in the last two rounds.

“The onus is to maintain our gameplan throughout the match,” he said.

“The ultimate goal is to maintain our momentum and we intend to restart well tomorrow (today) from the kick-off to maintain possession.”

Butukoro said it was crucial that the team controls the momentum in the second half.

“We’re inviting our fans in Suva to come out in numbers for the game against Malolo,” he said.

The match kicks off at 2pm.
