Tagimoucia Learn From The Best

The Sakeo Maikomo captained- Tagimoucia Babaas are learning from their opponents during the 34th Fiji Bitter Nawaka 7s tournament at Prince Charles Park, Nadi yesterday.

During pool play, the side went down 17-12 to Navutulevu, beat Malomalo 17-14 before going down 17-10 to Nawaka Black.

Team manager Ana Rabuka said the players in the team are either from Savusavu or Taveuni.

“We launched our team last year and this is our second year to compete at the Nawaka 7s,” she said.

“We’ve some players who could not be with the team due to the cyclones that hit Vanua Levu.”

Rabuka thanked the organisers of the tournament for going ahead despite the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The organisers are doing a great job. This will assist in the development of grassroots rugby. There are a lot of talents out there.”

She added the national selectors should keep a tab on talented players.

The side also had the services of Nadi winger Orisi Erenavula, Jim Bolakoro, Mosese Tamani, LIno Manuvila, Eroni Waqabaca, Atuinaisa Rakota, and Asesela Rabia.

Rabuka said they are also setting up a team to be based in Lautoka.

“We’ve received a lot of interest from the players who will be under the watchful eyes of coach Keni Rokotuidreketi,” she added.
