Standard Concrete Tailevu rugby team is confident of beating Naitasiri in their Skipper Cup semifinal clash.
Tailevu Rugby Football Union president Joe Rodan (Snr) said the players are prepared, motivated, and eager to claim their first major rugby title in 20 years.
"We've improved on our strengths and addressed our weaknesses," Rodan said.
"The boys have trained hard, done their homework, and are ready." Rodan acknowledged that Naitasiri is in strong form after topping the Skipper Cup points table.
"However, I believe Tailevu is a balanced squad, with a powerful forward pack and dynamic backline, which can counter Naitasiri's physical game."
He said while at camp the Tailevu rugby players undergo an intensive training programme focused on strategy, discipline, and unity.
Rodan credited the team's progress to strong leadership, community backing from the vanua o Tailevu, and a shared passion rooted in provincial pride.
"They (players) play at heart. They play for their vanua and that passion is more powerful than any paycheck."
Rodan also emphasised transparency and fan engagement, with regular social media updates helping to keep supporters connected throughout the season.
With 16 weeks of preparation behind them, Rodan says, the team is fully focused on Saturday's semifinal.
"We've come too far to stop now. The boys believe, the province believes, and we're ready to give everything."
"They (players) play at heart. They play for their vanua and that passion is more powerful than any paycheck."

Diwali message
In a show of inclusiveness and unity, the TRFU also extended Diwali greetings to our Hindu community, highlighting the festival's message of light, hope, and togetherness. Rodan acknowledged the role of Hindu members in the Union's growth and reaffirmed a commitment to cultural unity through their 2025-2030 business plan.
"Tailevu Rugby stands united in diversity. We celebrate Diwali with gratitude and shared purpose," he added.
