Swire Shipping Fijian Drua head coach Glen Jackson says the pressure in round seven is no different from round one.

After five matches, the Drua are on eight points in ninth place, ahead of Western Force and Moana Pasifika, both on four points.

“Same as round one, we want to win this competition, so it’s about continually understanding where we are as a young squad,” Jackson said.

“We keep talking about learning from our performances — whether good or bad — and making sure we improve every game.”

He said the team needed to reflect on last week’s performance and respond quickly.

“As a team, we take the learnings from that and move into the next game. You can’t go into the next match dwelling on anything because that doesn’t help anyone. It’s about moving straight on to the Blues now.”

Jackson said consistency would be key for the rest of the competition.

“We’ve gone with largely the same team for three weeks. They did a great job in two of those games, and unfortunately, it didn’t work in the third.

“Our top players have been performing well.

“If you look at the competition, the points spread shows that not every team is winning consistently. That’s the nature of the competition, and we are still very much in it.

“It’s about moving on quickly to the next game.”
