The Shop N Save Fiji Warriors had their training session in Nadi yesterday as they take on the Stockman Rugby (Australia Country) team at Prince Charles Park, Nadi, tomorrow. Warriors head coach Cohan Politini said that he was happy with the mixture of young and experienced players in the squad.

"The younger boys are learning a lot from the senior players in the squad, which is helping the whole team grow stronger," he said. Politini also shared that most of the players have just come from off from playing in the Vodafone Vanua Championship and the Skipper Cup competition.

"Even some of our players are still playing in (Skipper Cup) elimination rounds. This has helped them stay fit and ready for the game."

The Warriors team is mostly made up of young players under the age of 23. Some of the new players from the Vanua Championship includes Sevuloni Tawake (Navosa), Amani Tukana (Taveuni), and Savenaca Durusolo (Kadavu).

Other players who have played well in the Skipper Cup includes burly Ba tighthead prop Al-len Os borne, Peni Dekedeke and William Ryland. The Stockman Rugby side has been in the country for two weeks.

During this time, they've played a match against the Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) team and last Friday had a friendly match against the Malolo development side in Mana. These Stockman Rugby players come from rural areas and many work as farmers or tradesmen.

They are known for their toughness and strong teamwork.

The tour is part of the PacificAus Sports Programme, supported by the Australian Government, to help grow sports partnerships between Fiji and Australia under the Vuvale Partnership.
