The Raiwai Black women’s team one defeated Nakasi with 2-1 in the Easter Volleyball National Championship at the Vodafone Arena in Suva yesterday. Raiwai head coach Francis Lanyon praised his team’s rhythm and pace on the court.

“There are some hiccups we need to brush up before we advance further,” he said.

“I hope they players gain confidence through this game so far so good.”

Lanyon added that they aim to finish on a high note at the end of the season.

“In the last tournament, we reached the semifinal so we want to reach the final so it’s game on. It’s been a long time since the Raiwai women won and this team have young players.”

Lanyon said there were two Under-16 players and one U18 in the team.
