Bluegas Fiji Pte Limited have plans in the pipeline to expand their business in the northern division this year.

Bluegas currently has two terminals in operation in Vuda, Lautoka and their newest terminal at Wailada in Lami.

Bluegas general manager Thakor Punja said since its formation, the company has achieved substantial growth despite strong market competition in Fiji.

Mr Punja said after the construction of their newest terminal in Lami, there was immediate plan to set up their third terminal in the north by the end of this year.

“It was the demand from our customers that we build and set up a terminal in the north,” Mr Punja said.

“We currently have two terminals in Fiji and both are in Viti Levu but none in Vanua Levu.

“The aim is to fulfill the customers’ needs with our first ever terminal to be constructed in Vanua Levu.

“We have looked at two locations that are Malau in Labasa and in Savusavu and we are in the final process of costing,” he said.

Mr Punja said the company has now reached a long-term sustainable growth level that will enable them to scale up even faster.

“We got the newest terminal right now so that means competition is really big and growing in all the parts of the country.

“Our target is to get all the construction set up and break the ground by the end of the year,” he said.

Bluegas also has a subsidiary barging company which is tasked to supply gas in the maritime areas such as resorts via cargos.

“Before we used to get our gas transferred from Nadi to Suva via truck and bottle our cylinders here.

“But now we have direct shipment to Suva,” he said.
