Temporary night closure of main street, Nausori, for road upgrade works

The closure will be in effect from today Monday, 11 August, to Monday, 25 August 2025, weather permitting.

The planned road closure will extend from the Nausori Police Station to Cakobau House and will be in effect daily from 8:00pm to 5:00am over the 14-day period.

The Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) has announced a temporary closure of Main Street in Nausori to carry out essential road upgrade works.

The closure will be in effect from today Monday, 11 August, to Monday, 25 August 2025, weather permitting.

The closure will take place nightly between 8:00pm and 5:00am along the stretch from the Nausori Police Station to Cakobau House.

During these hours, no vehicles will be allowed to pass through the affected section of Main Street.

Business owners and private service vehicle operators are urged to ensure their vehicles are not parked along Main Street during the closure period to avoid disruptions.

Roadworks will be conducted in phases, beginning near the Nausori Police Post end of town.

FRA has also warned residents and businesses to expect noise disturbances during the construction hours.

Traffic management personnel and clear signage will be in place to guide motorists safely around the closed section. The public is advised to plan their travel accordingly and anticipate potential delays during the nightly closure.
