Amid personal challenges, TikToker and events manager Ana Masere is working to bring renewed hope to communities in the Western Division.

She is hosting a Hope Carnival 2026, which will run from April 18 to April 25 in Nadi.

Ms Masere and her team plan to host six carnivals across Fiji.

Confirmed dates include:

  • Nadi: April 18–25, 2026
  • Lautoka: May 2–9, 2026

Dates and venues for Ba, Sigatoka, Nasinu and Labasa are yet to be confirmed.

The carnival will feature community, entertainment and awareness activities, including an opening ceremony and float procession, nightly stage performances, a Queen and King contest, car and dog shows, baby show, food stalls, flea markets, amusement rides and outreach programmes.

Organisers expect between 10 and 15 queen contestants and five to 10 king contestants, with final numbers to be confirmed closer to the event.

The main advocacy theme is ‘One Community, One Voice Against Drugs’.

Key focus areas include drug awareness and prevention, ending domestic violence, youth empowerment, mental health awareness and community unity.

She hopes the event will provide a safe and inclusive space for people to come together.

“It supports youth engagement and talent development, small business opportunities, community awareness on key social issues, and cultural celebration and unity,” Ms Masere said.

Funds raised will support Centre of Hope initiatives, including assistance for vulnerable women and children, support for families in need, programmes for children of inmates, and the development of a safe haven facility.

The Hope Carnival committee includes chairman Emanuel Tavola, administrator Ana Masere, treasurer Taniela Dau, media officer Asaeli Onoilau, sound coordinator Kelepi Utovou and entertainment coordinator Bill Cokanauto.
