The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) will be hosting its annual ‘Walk for the Paws’ fundraiser, which will take place on November 9 at Albert Park, Suva.
The annual fundraiser is to help raise much needed funds to SPCA’s operations which included the rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming of stray animals.
"Every dollar raised by the public walking with us goes directly into rescue missions, rehabilitation through medication and daily checks, hygiene, nutritious food, and the safe shelter necessary for an animal to recover," said SPCA spokesperson.

"Our rescue missions are relentless and we are flooded with them daily, we do try to attend to as many as we can, but with limited funds and resources it isn't always easy - we do need the publics support and this annual event has been a vital part of what keeps us going.
“We were very grateful to the community for the support last year through corporate donations and through registrations and we are hopeful that we will see this same support if not more this year.”
