First electric buses to arrive in July

Rosie Travel Group is expecting a new fleet of electric tourist coaches with the first two to be delivered in July.
The 53-seater coaches are set to offer international visitors zero-emission hotel transfer service.
It is part of the company’s goal to make 50 per cent of its transport fleet electric by 2030. The fleet is currently being manufactured in China.

These coaches feature advanced battery-electric technology, fast charging with a 300-kilometre range, ample luggage space, and luxurious interiors designed to Australian standards.
BBCG, the makers of the buses, is a pioneering coach manufacturer and was the first Chinese company to receive ADR (Australian Design Rules) approval, meeting stringent design and safety standards for operation on Australian roads.
BBCG executive director Ken Lee said, “As a Chinese family-owned company leading advancements in transport technology, we see great synergy with Rosie Travel Group.”
Rosie Travel Group’s managing director, Tony Whitton called for carbon footprint solutions to Fiji’s 200,000 annual visitors.
“We must explore greener alternatives, and we believe China’s leadership in electric vehicle technology, coupled with Fiji’s solar energy potential, is the key,” Mr Whitton said.
“Our zero-emission journeys began last year, offering our customers luxury EV Private Transfers.”
The investment in fast-charging solar panels means their EV vehicles and new coaches would be 100 per cent solar powered.
