Gibson Eyed for Top Job

Fatiaki Gibson is widely speculated as the next man for the top job at Energy Fiji Limited.

His name has circulated in the industry for at least the past three years when internal rumblings pointed strongly to him being a better fit for the job.

Mr Gibson is an energy specialist consultant with 34 years of experience in the development of energy sector projects.

He was appointed as director to the board of Energy Fiji Limited.

He is a qualified Masters in Business Administration and spent over 26 years in the Fiji Electricity Authority, now Energy Fiji Limited, before moving into consultancy.

Mr Gibson works for the Government of Vanuatu and the Asian Development Bank as a project advisor in the Vanuatu Energy Access Programme.

He leads a team of experts from Stantec New Zealand who are the design and supervision consultants.

The project is now commissioned and operational on Malekula, and 98 per cent complete on the Espiritu Santo HV line.

Mr Gibson assisted in drafting A Guide to Private Sector Investment in Renewable Electricity Generation in the Pacific, for International Finance Corporation.

Mr Gibson worked extensively within the EFL {formerly FEA) in various technical and development aspects and has a wide knowledge of the local utility, power development projects and plans.
