Ashlyn Nair Naicker is the face of Tanoa Waterfront Hotel in Lautoka. Born and raised in Lautoka, Tanoa Waterfront Hotel manager, is married with a nine-year-old daughter.

Professional

She graduated from Brigham Young University, Hawaii with a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality and Tourism Management.

She started as a graduate trainee at Tanoa Waterfront Hotel in 2007 and shortly after was appointed as the Events Manager.

A few years after she was promoted as the Assistant Hotel Manager and in 2017 was promoted as the Hotel manager. “Working in the tourism industry is waking up to new challenges and experiences daily,” Ms Naicker said.

“The support structure within Tanoa has been the key to success and this was very much evident during the pandemic."

Lessons She Has Learnt From COVID-19

Life is full of surprises, she highlights.

“To be specific, the need to embrace change and to take the difficult steps in order to maintain balance in all my roles."

About Tanoa Waterfront Hotel

Tanoa Waterfront Hotel is the largest and only four-star hotel in Lautoka City with well-appointed 92 rooms catering for individual travellers and groups alike: be it for leisure or business.

The restaurant serves local and international cuisine to suit all tastes from their recently renovated kitchen which has certainly ticked the box for compliance to COVID-19’s protocol on social

distancing and hygiene and sanitisation new norms.

The project cost around $180K with all new equipment including a high-pressure wok to enhance the authenticity of the hotel’s Asian cuisine which had been a popular menu item so be sure to try this out on your next visit.
